A Petrine Tactic

It is a Petrine tactic:
To strike at ears
In bold bursts of passion
And conjured tears,
Only to be quick followed
By brazen perjury.
It is the sudden revelation
Of a heart’s larceny.

  1. It is a Petrine tactic:
    In silent submission,
    Imitating Christ
On the eve of His passion,
    To suffer the wrongs
    Of unjust oppression.
It is the humble, arduously learned lesson
Of loving Him more than these.
