Say what? Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson held a press conference this morning to endorse pro-abort Rudy Giuliani for the Republican presidential nomination. What's next? The four horsemen?
I have always found Robertson to be inscrutable. But, this really does take the cake.
D. James Kennedy, once prayed at the Republican National Convention, "Lord, deliver us from politicians--and give us statesmen." To which I might add, "And Lord, deliver us from wanna-be televangelist kingmakers while you're at it."
You know and I know why he did this. It is the ABC-H. People are willing to do all sorts of things against their core beliefs to keep Senator Clinton out of the White House. There are people who truly believe that the pro-death candidate Rudy Giulinai is the only hope to keep Senator Clinton out of the White House.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, may the Lord grant to us in His mercy statesmen.
Amen!
ReplyDeleteWeird. Making G. the candidate will mean handing HC the White House. How can people not see this?
ReplyDeleteThe bottom line is that they somehow feel justified losing to HC because then they will blame conservatives for not going along with their plan. It will all be their fault.
Robertson and Weyrich/Jones III (who back Romney) could BOTH have endorsed Huckabee and watched his current rise in popularity turn meteoric. As it is, they are ignoring the Evangelical trend, and splintering Christian unity at the worst possible time. Kingmakers indeed.
ReplyDeleteGiuliani might prevent an invasive holocaust, but he condones our internal one, considering the fact that more unborn Americans are slaughtered every day than the number of victims in NYC on 9/11.
Nowhere in the Bible does it instruct us to prefer "the lesser evil." This time, I'm not so sure between RG and HC which one is the lesser evil. They're both pro-death authoritarian statists. I don't see much of a choice except that one has a lisp and the other wears pastel pantsuits.
ReplyDeleteIn an odd sort of way, I'm very encouraged by the number of people rejecting the "lesser of two evils" approach this time around. The proverbial ocean liner has nudged ever so slightly to the right.
ReplyDeleteOh that men and women would vote not only their conscience but vote as though their very souls depended on the outcome.
ReplyDeleteI cannot understand how being unequally yoked to a political party or person is any different than what we are warned against in Psalm 1
Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand ( to stand, remain, endure, take one’s stand) in the way or course of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law does he meditate day and night.
God help us all. May he have mercy on this Land and shed his grace on us once more.
I would highly recommend readers of Dr. Grant's blog to also read the blogs of one of the fellas who left a comment here...Jim (@ Large). Great stuff on his blog! He just doesn't post as much as Dr. G. God bless y'all!!!
