PETA's Ice Cream Gambit

No, Dave Berry did not make this up. Maybe it would be funny if he had. Maybe. Instead, it is just pathetic. The radical animal-rights activist group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has asked Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, to replace the cow's milk they use in their products with human breast milk. No really. According to PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman, the change would "lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health." Right. That's just what consumers need to improve their experience with a Cherry Garcia or Chunky Monkey double-scoop waffle cone!

I don't want to think of breasts and Jerry Garcia at the same time.

I didn't read the post or anything I just wanted to drop a note to you. I am doing antiquity right now. (I LOVE IT!!! Except that journaling is... death to me!) Any way today I listened to Mesopotamia: The Fertile Crescent. In the lecture you were talking about Lugalzaggisi. You said that you would give a prize to anyone who could pronounce it five times in a row with out stumbling... well guess what? I did it! I did it five times in a row without stumbling! I have a witness too! So, I just thought you would be happy to know! And Leah-Joy (my witness) can do it too!! We are really really enjoying your lectures. Thank you so much for doing them! (BTW, in the second lecture History and Archeology we laughed and laughed and laughed when you pointed out Daniel and Rachel talking... (you were talking about epistemology and said, "How do I know that Daniel is talking to Rachel?") now it is down for all to hear... So, if I were Daniel I would be just mortified but... I'm not!) So, thank you so much for all your hard work!

Your dutiful students,

Myra Frances Johnston and Leah-Joy Smith

I am reminded of what R.J. Rushdoony used to say to Otto Scott in the Easy Chair tape series: "Well, Otto," Rush would slowly and calmly say, "With enemies like this, our job is made much easier."
