Could you help me understand how a canditate who supports killing children in the womb can be called "solidly Christian?" This is a difficulty for me.

Diane: Great question. I sure don't have a good answer for that. I've been teaching through the book of James the last few months and Obama's "profession of faith" looks eerily like that of the "word without deeds" professors in chapter 2. It's awfully hard to square his extreme views on child-killing with the grace and mercy of the Gospel. If somehow Obama is actually just a deceived believer, "solid" would hardly be the best way to describe his creed. Just for the record though, Stephen has often commented in the press that he could never vote for Obama for just this reason.

He very well could be a deceived believer. He could also be a deceiver of believers.

Jennifer - Perhaps the electorate could be deceived by a smooth talker, however the scriptural end to your ellipsis is "if it were possible".

"For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." Matthew 24:24 (NKJV)

True-True Jason, Thank you for getting the exact scripture. I personally have been confronted by so many false prophets that I am cautious and pray daily for wisdom.
