“God’s Name
Comprises all His excellencies:
Might, righteousness, wisdom, mercy, truth.
Great and wonderful is He;
For He is righteous;
For He is wise;
For He is merciful;
For He is mighty;
For He is true.
And so we petition:
In all His excellencies,
His majesty be hallowed.” --John Calvin

George, will you suggest some of Calvin's works that you consider "must reading?" Is the quote taken from a work you read often?
William Leachman (by the way)
Will: This actually comes from a remarkable new book just out, "The Piety of John Calvin: A Collection of His Spiritual Prose, Poems, and Hymns" translated and edited by Ford Lewis Battles (P&R). I also really appreciate "The Golden Booklet of the Christian Life," which is excerpted out of the "Institutes."
I think you would love reading--and singing--from the Battles book.
