What an excellent, eclectic collection!

I can't quite make out the script on the last one. What is that?

Paul: That is the latest project of the rather remarkable postmodern Icelandic band, Sigur Ros.

I'll second that last recommendation. Sigur Ros is great, challenging stuff. Especially their untitled album.

Do they deny that there is any real meta-saga?

Dr. Grant, have you seen the trailer to Sigur Ros' new movie? Looks fantastic.

Love that Hem EP. Dying to hear the Lyle album. His "Live in Texas" is one of my faves.

Going with my pastor to see Lyle at Bass Hall down here in Cowtown in Oct. Can't wait!

Great picks! I have several of these on my Shuffle. They make great running music. And yes, it was horribly hot and humid yesterday at the Franklin Classic. You are right - nothing like getting beat by a hot dog.

Dr. Grant-- you have just climbed higher on my ladder of admiration (you were already very high, but I think you just passed the top!). Alison Krauss is probably my favorite artist and *A Hundred Miles or More* is one of my favorite albums. Do you have a favorite track (or tracks)? Mine are probably 3, 5, 10 and 12. Do you have any favorite Alison Krauss albums? I really like *New Favorite.*

I am a home-schooler who does Gileskirk by way of DVDs. Listening to you lectures is the highlight of my week. Thank you!!

Jordan Marie: I love most of the cuts on the new Alison Krauss project. I am particularly fond of the duet with James Taylor and the three extraordinary "Spirituals" on the album. I marvel at her musicianship and artistry. This was worth waiting for!

George - my daughter just purchased the Allison Krauss CD. Fine, fine, fine! I've long been a fan of hers and believe she has one of the most naturally beautiful voices I've ever heard. Gotta love that fiddle tune!

Great selection. Sigur Ros...very nice. Lovett is a great songwriter and an incredible showman, in an understated, classic way.

I for one, would not be un-enthused if our gracious host posted a "What I am Listening To" thread as often as possible. I would not be disgruntled if it spun off with great vigor into it's own music blog.
Whether I could contain my passion and keep my comments to a reasonable length is undetermined.
But I would try.

Sigur Ros fans might also enjoy French-Canadian cellist/singer "Jorane"
You can find a sampling of her work on youtube.

RE: Aria 2, One of the singers Paul Schwartz has featured on other albums is Lisbeth Scott. Lisbeth is perhaps the most expressive vocalist I have heard. Her album "Passionate Voice" was inspired by her experience of working on the "Passion of the Christ" soundtrack.

Dr. G., this list reveals that you are a living Franklin TN demographic. (And I'm a huge Franklin fan.)
